Action-packed supernatural horror, Executioner-style

William Massa's haunted hit-man Frank Talon is really coming into his own with this third adventure. The former Delta operative has finally acknowledged the presence of objectively demonic evil, but his modus operandi is still to eliminate with extreme prejudice those who choose to ally themselves with dark forces. This time out Talon is tasked with rescuing a formerly possessed damsel in distress from becoming re-possessed, this time seven-fold. There's a nearly endless supply of nameless, faceless bad guys to take out, but one thing I love about this series is that the hero doesn't just charge in with guns blazing. He makes plans, has contingency plans, knows when to request backup, and when he pulls the trigger, it's just one more step in a process. There are scenes of stealth, an extended chase scene, and a siege on a remote desert monastery. Another strong point in this (hopefully) ongoing series is how Talon wrestles with his own demons, even when taking down the minions of others. His primary ally is resourceful as always, and three new characters could certainly show up again in later installments. Occult Assassin has all the elements of a Mack Bolan/Executioner action/adventure, but with a supernatural/horror twist. Can't wait for the next one!

This is the best one yet! And That's saying something... [See My Reviews on the Other Books]
Starts out with a 1, 2 Punch with the first 2 chapters AND Never lets up!
A Great Ending and a Helluva Journey In Between...

William Massa does it again.

Occult Assassin: Apocalypse Soldier is the newest novel in the adventures of Mark Talon, ex Delta Force soldier now on a path of vengeance. The tale of Talon, to this point, has been a twisted one, filled with occult (sometimes supernatural) villians to eliminate at every turn. Marc lost his fiance violently at the hands of a satanic cult and he has made it his mission to take out evil where ever it rears it's head.
In Apocalypse Soldier, the reader finds Talon hot on the trail of a woman sought after by a satanic cult. A cult whose endgame is to start the Apocalypse. Only by saving her, can Talon save the world from the end times.
Massa really does a great job of entertaining the reader. Talon is akin to an occult hunting James Bond. (I think the Daniel Craig Bond.) He is more action than finesse, but that is why you love this character. His duty, his self proclaimed mission, is to exterminate and does he ever leave a pile of bodies in his wake.
This fast paced novel gets the reader involved and you better hold on tight because it's a bumpy ride.
What I love about the Occult Assassin series is you can jump in anywhere and have a solid understanding of what's going on without having to read the books in a specific order. It's pure entertainment!!

Great kit

The crystal kit worked beautifully-- producing a sparkling array of tiny crystals instead of the big ones pictured, since crystals grew on EVERYTHING. My seven-year-old daughter was thrilled.

About the Author
Henry Corbin (d. 1978) was professor of Islamic relgion at the Sorbonne and director of the department of Iranic studies at the Institut franco-iranien in Tehran. His wide-ranging work included the first translations of Heidegger into French, studies in Swedenbort and Boehme, writings on the Grail and angelology, and definitive translations of and commentary on Persian Islamic/Sufi texts. He introduced us to such seminal terms as the 'imaginal' realm, ta'wil, and 'theophany' into Western psychospiritual thought. His published works include Creative Imagination in the Sufism of Ibn Arabi, Avicenna and the Visionary Recital, and The Man of Light in Iranian Sufism.

"Alone with the Alone"

I was so taken with the "Creative Imagination in The Sufism of Ibn Arabi" that I was ready to buy a copy of "Alone with the Alone". Thank goodness amazon let's you "look inside", turn's out it's a re-titling of the same book.
Fantastic by any name.
I am someone immersed in non-dual Eastern traditions, yet I am also guided in my life by a sense of devotion and the experience of grace felt as presence: mysteriously "other" yet non-separate.
I deeply appreciated the vision in this book which unifies all the opposites. Profound in it's honoring of Love as what we are and clearly describing how this so, it also maintains a clear recognition of the un-manifest source which that love reveals and in which that love arises: it's a breathtaking picture. It melts divisions while honoring them.

The language may be dense at times, but it's worth the effort.

Perfect rendering for this Sufi Master

If this book was not available to the world of spiritual idealism we would be much worse off than we are now.
As an exercise in thoroughly intelligent and exacting design creating an intellectually nuanced masterpiece for me and also without doubt all of us I would entertain the not idea but elongationary notion that it is probably the finest book even written on the non-compliant Ibn Arabi.
The essential factor which possibly most miss is that the core of this extraordinary work is governed by Ibn Arabi's Sophia, whom he knew as the beautiful young Nizam. This young and lovely apparitional yet living young woman gave him her soul or quality of Sakti which governed Ibn Arabi's life to his native embellishment of Sufi Perfect Master, the same as Avatar Meher Baba, or in Sufi terminology Qtub-e-Irshid known as God-Realization.
Henry Corbin is a genius of the highest order and to further follow his directive we should learn more of the cosmological order of sustainable prototypicality in such works as 'God Speaks' by Avatar Meher Baba.
Corbin is an essential factor for all would be Sufi dialectics and will without doubt enrich the Sufi world immeasurably with his preponderant knowledge of essential and beautiful soul stirring imagery as is in this wondrous work of his.

Total Waste of Money

I have NEVER written a bad review because I figured my opinion was just that - an opinion. As such, I've always chosen to keep it to myself. This "book" however is so bad that I just can't hold back. It claims to be 52 pages long. Well, 18 of the 52 pages are blank. Yep, blank. Ten more of the pages have between 12 and 98 words each on them. One page is the copyright page. That leaves 23 pages of "content". The average word count on each of the remaining 23 pages is approximately 175 words. I'm attaching a photo of a random page to give you an idea how few words that is. You may note that if you read the sample page is doesn't give you any relevant information about cupping therapy at all. I seriously question all the reviews this product has received because they simply don't describe it fairly at all. One final note - to give you an visual of how few words are on each page, this complete review contains 200 words! That is more than the average page in the book! Don't waste your money. I have requested a return of my mine.

The only thing this book could be useful for is someone who wants to receive cupping and ...

I purchased this book because I want to incorporate cupping into my massage therapy practice. It took me maybe 30 minutes to read the entire book from start to finish and I didn't learn a single piece of practical knowledge. The only thing this book could be useful for is someone who wants to receive cupping and would like to know what the application process is like. It doesn't even explain what happens scientifically. For me this was a complete waste of money.

If you know absolutely nothing about cupping, then this book would be informative. I personally don't see, however, how it would be any better than just doing an internet search about the topic. I read it in about 30 minutes. That's it. It's more like a thick pamphlet. No diagrams. Disappointing.

Good for beginners...if you're more advanced, look elsewhere.

If you're a beginner this is a great book. However, I guess I'm at a higher level than what this book aims for. For example, I don't need the whole history of email, nor do I need basics on getting around a Linux system. Also, this book used FC4 and sendmail, while I am a Debian guy who uses Postfix.

If you've never set up a server before, give this book a shot. Otherwise, look for something a little more advanced.

Also - Poor editing! See especially the discussion of IMAP servers (appears as "IMA" in several tables). There are other assorted errata as well. Nothing a second edition can't fix (from what I saw).

Well structured book for first time mail server systems

I bought this book just out of interest to read a book about mail servers.
I have setup mail servers before (including virtual domains etc.).

I think this book sales point is the combination of the well thought structured contents, the nice contents flow, the good administration manners and well paced chapters based on simple proven solutions.

Its one of the books which you just cant put down till the end. The author has its very own idea of how to tell the story and its refreshingly different.

He is deliberately splitting up processes for server and client side point of view (f.e sending and receiving e-mails, filtering etc.)and goes the extra miles to bring his points accross.

The book describes all required functionality for basic, but full blown mail server systems (Virtual domains, clusters etc. are - if at all - only mentioned for completion purpose).

I did like that the authors have a good feeling on how much information first time system admins can take. Whereever possible the author gives basic explanations about the components described, warn to make backups before proceeding, and reasons the design decisions he made (keywords: backward compatibility with previous standards, work arounds etc.).

I also liked the motivating spirit, design considerations and experiences the author is sharing with the reader. I would give it 5 stars for junior system administrators, 3-4 for seniors.

I find the story itself , how its told, its ideas and the spirit of it most impressive.

A bit outdated

This book is a bit outdated since its focus is on outdated packages which have lost favor in data centers. I'd give it a miss.

Awesome Read!

Excellent book on Mr Labrava's life, gives you a no-holds barred glimpse of his past, all leading down a solid path to his current success. He's got talent and a skill he's finely honed into Hollywood. I did an all day read-a-thon and couldn't put the book down once I started. Highly Recommend!

A Passionate Life Story

A very exciting and passionate life story, packed with intense experiences. A page turner - I read it in two days. I was consistently inspired, learning more about myself, discovering things I will change and decisions I will make differently in the future. If David could go through the things he did and arrive where he has today with a huge new future ahead, all things are possible for those who want to make more of their lives. So many times he chose strength rather than despair, dropping nuggets of wisdom throughout the book. It is well written and has a very enjoyable flow - couldn't wait to get to the next story. I loved it.

this is a must read

I so enjoyed reading this book. I was a fan of the show and the way played that role was amazing and the book was brilliant. I could not put it down I read in one day and my 17 year old son wants to read it next David has lived a colorful life THE MAN HAS A AMAZING WORK ETHIC AND AMAZING TALENTS that being said it was great to get insight into what made him the man he is nothing but respect for this life changing book. i suspect that the impact will be felt by many Thank you for sharing your story and your talents.

Essential Reading For All Artists

Most books on painting are “How to do” books. Richard has produced an incredible “Should do” book. From the first paragraph to the very last page, Richard has filled his little book to overflowing with the principles, fundamentals, and observations culled from nature, the giants of artist history, and his own experience. If studied, internalized, and put into practice, Richard’s text will lead the artist/student on a journey of exploration and solid artistic achievement that should last a lifetime. Since 1972 I have used this wonderful reference to guide my own quest for artistic excellence and understanding. With every updated edition, this book has only gotten better. Without reservation, I recommend and highly encourage any and all who seek a higher standard of art to make this current edition an essential part of their personal pursuit to that end.
