Excellent

I would love it if reviewers spoke to the content of the book as opposed to (or in addition to) arrival time and condition. I received a complimentary desk copy and have reviewed several chapters. The writing is exceptionally clear. Chapter 3 provides a detailed step-by-step guide to critically evaluate research - I have used several textbooks and none of those come close in detail or clarity. Chapter 14 (statistics review) is also excellent. Unfortunately I can't adopt it for my current research methods courses as our focus is on conducting research and this book is on evaluating research. I would recommend this to students as a supplement (if you have the money). It will really help you understand the concepts.

It's a good read. The information is presented thoroughly

It's a good read. The information is presented thoroughly. As far as texbooks go, it is not too much of a slog to read. This was especially useful because my professor lectured directly from the books material without providing her own exaexamples from any supplemental sources. So, apparently this book is so good you can base an entire class on it alone.

This is the best ANESTHESIA REVIEW BOOK out there for the BOARDS. Great review for residents as well. Very comprehensive, easy to read, great pictures for people like me with a photographic memory. Excellent questions, really board oriented. This is a must for any anesthesia resident.

Michael E. Hasselmo is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Computational Neurophysiology Laboratory at Boston University, where he is also a faculty member in the Center for Memory and Brain and the Program in Neuroscience and principal investigator on grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the Office of Naval Research.

Excellent text for undergraduate and graduate neuroscientists!

This is an awesome text book that brings together recent work over the last 15 years with preexisting learning and memory concepts. Short of reading 30 review papers, Hasselmo discusses key concepts that will ultimately shape the field of spatial memory, particularly the role of theta rhythm in the EEG. For any entry-level neuroscientist studying learning and memory, this is required reading to become up-to-date on the field.

Difficult but worth struggling through

This author is one of the foremost experts in memory and he really takes a lot of time to explain his theories and experimnts. I learned so much from my multiple reading of his book, it was well worth it. This is not easy reading for the lay person interested in the neurological underpinnings of memory but there is a lot to learn from this. If you have the drive to read the book a couple of times you will glean much.

I love this book because I have no choice

I am both thrilled and honored to be the first to review this book! I have had my nose in it for two solid weeks at this point and there is sooo much information in it, my brain can barely take it. Much like the magnificent A&P book I had the pleasure of reading, this book is also huge, cumbersome, beautifully put together in terms of subject matter, and absolute torture to read. Sometimes when I'm reading, I pause to reflect that one day I'll look back on all this and laugh but for now, it puts the fun in fundamentals the same way it puts the lotion on it's skin. I particularly enjoy the questions at the end of each chapter that have two possible answers and it's up to me to decide. I always choose wrong so that needs work...but I have NO DOUBT that this book will continue to serve me even when I don't want it to. It truly is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Sizes in this book run a little large so make sure you get yourself a huge bag to lug this nonsense around in.

I want to gouge my eyes out.

I hate my life. As I read through this skillfully mundane written book, I stop to wonder; why the hell did my professor pick this damn book. This book is so hard to read and absorb, let alone get you all worked up about nursing. I constantly have to go back and reread the sentence several times just to get what the author is trying to say. The words are all jumbled in there. I understand that it's hard to write a book (let alone a textbook), so I appreciate that the author did so for our benefit. BUT, this book is a total bummer. It doesn't flow easily and it's so "blah blah blah blah blah". Just think of a crap load of information crammed into a chapter, to which each chapter can run up to 20+ pages... front and back..... Good luck to those that have to read this book, I don't envy you at all.

I own the paperback version of this book and I must say it is very heavy and sometimes awkward to carry around. The book is not a hardcover and so it gets bent pages and the cover gets really beat up easily. With the kindle version you don't get the evolve website access, but honestly there isn't much to it. I get more out of online videos than this website. {[CELL PHONE Kindle] The kindle version has every page that is in the book. It is laid out in full pages and you are able to zoom in to be able to read it on a phone device. The kindle version allows you to tap the center of the page and then small preview pages are displayed at the bottom with the correct page number displayed to make pages easy to find. There is no chapter select, so knowing what page(s) you need will be a good thing or your going to be swiping from whatever chapter your on, back to the beginning. I don't find this an issue as I got the kindle in addition to the paperback. Highlighting, as far as I can tell, isn't available, but I can bookmark a page by using my phones menu key and access the bookmarks the same.} [COMPUTER Kindle: You can highlight, add notes, and there is even a content selector. You can even view the notes option to see what notes you have from throughout the book.]
Over all I'm pleased as I can read the kindle version anywhere and I don't have to lug the paperback tomb with me.
I only gave this four stars because it does not have a chapter selection in a regular menu the way smaller kindle books have.

The single greatest Spirit-filled resource!

I like Bono, too, but it matters little what endorsement Bono gives Dake's material, as it stands on its own.
In my opinion, Finis Jennings Dake is the finest Spirit-filled, Faith-oriented theologian/Bible teacher of the 20th century. Although many have set out to undermine the reputation of this dear saint of God and giant of the faith, they can't shut him up; his writings live on, the most prominent of which is "God's Plan For Man."
It's all here--1000 pages of the most concise, balanced, and profound doctrine concerning everything from the pre-adamic world to the return of Christ. There are also hundreds of pages of teaching on the basic "how-to's" of everyday Christian life--how to pray, what promises are available to the Christian today, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a step by step exposition of the Lor's prayer, holiness, faith, putting complete trust in the word of God, miracles, deamons, angels, and everything else--EVERYTHING!
There are a few teachings that many will be troubled by, but I implore you to read such teachings in the context of Dake's overall view of man and his relationship to the spiritworld, God, angels, deamons, etc. Dake rightly contends that the beings of the spiritual world (angels, demons, and even God Himself) are as real and physical as we are, sighting a limitless number of scriptures to support his teachings.
And that is a point I can't stress enough: Dake profusely refers the reader to the Bible. My guess is he has cited tens of thousands of scriptures. I have yet to read a single claim made by Dake that is not generously supported with scripture.
Although most would use this work topically, I stronly suggest one sit down and read it all the way through. It will take a while, but it will surely be the most rewarding extended Bible study you've ever embarked on.
"God's Paln For Man" is a must for every Spirit-filled believer!

Great Theologically sound material

I have been using the Dake Annotated Reference Bible since I got saved 10 years ago. Recently I purchased God's Plan for Man, great book. At the moment I am reading straight through and I am only in the first lesson, but as with the reference Bible, it is excellent study material.
As for those who are criticizing the works of Dake, I would tell you like my pastor told me 10 years ago. Chew up the meat and spit out the bones. No, you may not agree with everything, but be like David was concerning Saul, don't touch God's annointed, even if you don't agree with everything he stands for. God Bless

THE BOOK EVERY CHILD OF GOD SHOULD HAVE

I have studied the Bible for over 60 years. I have ministered to tens of thousands of Catholic, Denominational, Non-Denominational and unsaved people through teaching and preaching of what I learned from Finis Dake along with many other scholars. This included teaching on every grade level, Pastoring numerous churches, graduating many students as a Bible College President, Years of Radio and Television programs to mention just a few accomplishments. My personal Library consists of over $100,000 in books alone. I've said all this not to brag but to help establish my qualifications, since it is so easy for those who are only parrots to repeat their mis-guided teachers whose statements are unsupported by true fact.

Out of all the scholars that I have studied under, Finis Dake stands head and shoulders above the rest in spiritual insight and accuracy of the scriptures. He was an exceptional man whom God called to be a gift to the Body of Christ with a great ability to teach the scriptures with simplicity and accuracy. During his lifetime Dake devoted over 100,000 hours of study during his 43 years of ministry. (Figure it out- one hour a day would only equal 365 hours for just one year).

I recommend God's Plan For Man to every Christian for their spiritual enrichment and development regardless if a novice or advanced student of the Bible. I would also recommend checking into all of Dakes books. Don't let the devil deceive you on this genuine man of God. All of these positive reviews are not understated as you will see when you read this book for yourself.

AFTER 45 YEARS----I GAVE UP THE ADDICTION!!!!!! IT FEELS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!! I ADMIT IT TOOK ME NEARLY 3 WEEKS TO READ--I WOULD READ A CHAPTER AND PUT DOWN....SCARED TO QUIT!!!!! IT CONTROLED MY LIFE.......................I NOW CONTROL IT... I STILL HAVE SAD TIMES..BUT THE CIGARETTE COULD NOT FIX IT!!! JUST READ THEN MAKE UP YOU'RE MIND....YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I D I D!!!!! Ich mag das Buch, ich mag auch die Protagonisten, und die Geschichte bis jetzt auch. Ich mag auch den Schreibstil von Annie Stone, es ist nicht langweilig zum Lesen. Auf alle Fälle werde ich mir Teil 3 und 4 dieser Serie kaufen, nur brauche ich jetzt nach so viel HEISSER Erotik mal nur ein bisschen Pause.
