Eye-opening and thought provoking

I bought this book recently, and couldn't put it down. The project fascinated me, and watching the story unfold was so interesting. I felt like I was reading a novel rather than a blog. And it really made me think about all the barriers we put up between each other, especially living in cities and towns. I think I'll have to put the talking to strangers approach to the test and see how I get on.

Inspirational blog

This is a copy of his actual blog, but in kindle form. I like this format better since I can read this anywhere, even if I don't have internet access. The 99 cents was well worth it!
He writes about his project, aka "talk to strangers", about his experiences, people he met, things that happen. He went from an anti-social to people friendly person. In the process, he met and made some really good friends, and even found his future wife. It's inspirational to read all the risks he took to talk to people, to be friendly, to give praise, and in the end, not always met with rejection. I can fully identify myself as him, if he can do it, so can I! This book made me question my fear of talking to strangers, maybe strangers want to talk to me, but just like me, they are afraid to. Seriously, what's the worst that can happen if you start talking to strangers. Maybe you can even find your own "Michelle", just like one reader that emailed in managed to.
Most of us has that annoying people friendly coworkers/friends that always seem to know everyone, always so easy in making new friends. This is why. He knows everyone because he talks to them, just like this author.

Great Idea

A very light read and is interesting in parts. The best part of the book is the premise. If everyone were a little friendlier to each other, how much greater would life be! I don't know if I would start a conversation in an elevator because it's a forced captivity, but I always talk to people while I'm standing in a line. And if I can get someone to smile or laugh, all the better.
